"At that close range, we won't last long against those Star Destroyers."This image is the product of a process I call Pixel Fractaling (or Pointillism Pointillism Pointillism). Three layers of pixelation are applied to an image through restrictive color and pattern dither algorithms. The result is an image made up of pixels that consist of sixteen pixels, which in turn are made up of sixteen pixels. This process of repetition both highlights and absurdizes the fetishizing of the exposed pixel - mozaic-like imagery that points to a shared experience of the 8-bit entertainment systems of the Nintendo generation.
When printed, this image to 2.1 meters high and 1.7 meters across.
